Mark,
The blinking red indicates that battery is not taking the charge from the
base. Try this. Remove the battery and make sure all contacts are clean and
replace battery. If this doesn't fix the problem you will need to replace the
Battery. Use a rechargable NI MH battery only. The sane thing happened to
me. A new battery and it is as good as new.
