I hae a Dell home pc system with winxp. I need to reformat
the syst em due to some major problems. There is an admin
password on the system that I am having to bypass using a
floppy boot. How can I reformat this system? Also, I do
not have the winxp registration number due to the computer
being froze up. I have the dell service tag and code. Can
anyone help?

Hi Jeanie,

If windows came with your Dell you do not need the registration #.

Have you tried to boot from the recovery cd. This should work without
needing the password.
