How do I sign on to Vista WinMail when not at home?? I used to sign on to
www.bellsouth.net and enter my user ID/Password on my old XP computer,
but can't get that process to work now. What am I probably doing wrong??
Seems to me that it should be the same process?? Thanks,

I don't really understand what you are trying to do.

If you are just trying to check for new emails while you are away from home,
then use the webmail at the link you provided. Just enter your username and
password. Win Mail is not involved.

If you are trying to connect to your home computer, so you can see all of
your downloaded email, then you need to use Remote Desktop or some such
software.

Dave, I think your first sentence spelled it out,---"I didn't understand what
I was
trying to do either". Hey I'm 82 and just got confused I suppose, but I was
trying
to check for new e-mails and forgot how to do it. After installing my new
system with Vista, I think I tried to make it different. All is well, Thanks
for your help.

Go to Tools | Accounts | Add | Mail and set up your mail account. You can
check the bellsouth website for the correct servers and settings.

Under Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Servers check the box that says
your server requires authentication and then click on the Settings button
and set it to have the same as incoming.
