windows xp, vpn, 736 error when connect remotely

I setup a vpn at home windows xp and try to connect it from office.
The first time it seems establishing the connection but at get error
736 popup:

Checking network protocol connection.....
TCP/IP remote error 736: the remote computer terminated the control
protocol.

Redial ...

and after that when I try to connect again. it just hangs there no
more establishing.

any suggestions?

What operating system is on the VPN server at the office? This error
typically involves the inability to get a valid TCP/IP address from
the VPN server...
