Windows XP Share Not Accessible - Permission To Use Network Resource

A

Alan S

Hello,

During the last week, the network shares on one of my computers are no
longer accessible.

I get the message:

"\\MAIN\MyData is not accessible. You might not have permission to use
this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out
if you have access permissions.

The semaphore timeout period has expired."

I am running XP Pro and have it set up with a workgroup not domain.

If I go to my Network Places, the files in the shares can be accessed.

But trying to access them from the same computer "MAIN", if I go through
Entire Network|Microsoft Windows Network|<My Workgroup>|Main, I can see the
shares but cannot access them.

I am able to access the shares that are on another XP Pro machine. From the
other machine, I can navigate to see this computer and the shares, but
cannot access them. I have turned on Simple File Sharing. I have turned
off the Windows Firewall for testing purposes.

The account I am using is set up as an administrator. Both machines have
static ip addresses.

I am running Norton Antivirus 2005. I have disabled ZoneAlarm.

Below is the log from doing ipconfig /all

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
