Windows XP Recovery Console asks for password

When I try to use the Recovery Console on Windows XP, it
asks me for an administrator password. I tried using the
passwords for all the administrator accounts on my
computer, but it does not accept them. I suspect that it
requires the password for the default XP administrator.
Can anyone tell me what that password is or how to by-
pass this step?

Thanks,
Cyrus

This registry edit causes the Recovery Console not to ask for a password.
This works for both XP Home and XP Professional.

Start | Run | Regedit
Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\
CurrentVersion\Setup\RecoveryConsole
Set the DWORD SecurityLevel value to 1
Exit Registry and Reboot
