Windows XP Home Edition will not remember passwords

I have Windows XP Home Edition and my company has a data
base that I access over the Internet with a user ID and
password. When I used Windows 98, Windows would remember
my password. Now that I have XP, it will no longer
remember my password or even give me the option to check
the box to remember my password. Has this option been
left out of Windows XP? I really need to be able to have
Windows remember this because it use it daily and it's a
hassle to put it in each time. Can anyone help?
