Windows XP Home Crash, Help Needed

Urgent please!

Dear Friends:

While being in a faraway place with my laptop Toshiba-
Satellite, which I bought at a Future Shop at Merivale Rd.
in Ottawa (Canada) some 2 years ago with the preloaded
Microsoft Windows XP, Home Edition, I recently experienced
a complete breakdown of my Windows system. This happened
without any warning and apparently without any reason;
after switching on my Toshiba I was getting messages that
a fatal error occurred in the Windows system. I should
mention that I had always been very careful not to catch
any virus, not to mess about with my Windows, and
generally did not do any uploads with my Toshiba. (And the
system never indicated that there was any virus or problem
before the breakdown.) Since I did not carry my Windows
disk with me (though I had my Toshiba recovery disk which
unfortunately did not work for the purpose) and couldn't
use my computer for outside communication I had to ask a
local man to help me. He told me (i.e. as far as I could
understand) that he could only put a temporary copy of
Windows on my computer, which would be valid for 30 days
only. My situation now is as follows: my stay here was
extended and that the 30-day period is near the end - as
my computer indicates with a message at each switch-on. I
wonder whether there is something I can do to continue
using my laptop. Could you please give me advice in this
regard, i.e. what exactly should I do when my laptop asks
me whether I wish to "reactivate my Windows now"? I
believe that I should not pay for my Windows copy again
since the failure was not my fault at all.

For you to verify my situation, I enclose some data about
my laptop, from stickers I have at the bottom of my
computer:

TOSHIBA 1800 System Unit Model No. PS 183C-00HV95 Serial
No. 32054991P

Windows XP Home Edition N09-00319 Product key: B9403-FVVXK-
RH2XR-WYTFC-8X3TY
00043-164-370-904

Temporary Windows I now have installed:
Windows XP Home Edition, Version 2002
Service Pack 1
55277-OEM-0016437-70904

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards,

No problem, you just need to re-activate it. It will use the product code
thats on the label and still in your OS. (Thats assuming someone else hasn't
managed to activate their copy using the number you posted to the news group
rather unwisely).

Type "Activate" into the help and support system for three ways to activate.
If you don't have Internet access on that machine try... "activate Windows
by phone"... eg

To activate Windows by phone:

The Windows Product Activation Wizard is located in System Tools. To open a
system tools item, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories,
point to System Tools, and then click the appropriate icon., then click
Activate Windows.
Follow the activation instructions that appear on your screen.

Notes
Alternatively, you can open the Windows Product Activation wizard by
clicking Start, then Run, and type in "oobe/msoobe /a".
If you do not have a modem or an Internet connection, you can activate your
copy of Windows by calling a Microsoft customer service representative.
Activating Windows is fast and does not require your name or other personal
information.
If you have not yet activated Windows XP, you can initiate activation at any
time by clicking the Windows Activation icon in the system tray. Once you
have activated Windows XP, this icon disappears from the system tray.If you
choose not to activate now, reminders will appear periodically during the
next 30 days. After that time has expired, you will be required to activate
in order to continue to use Windows.
