VS 2005 EE will operate on any version of Vista.
I suggest you go to the link, and learn more about the product you bought:

A little patience and wisdom does not hurt.

Visual Studio 2005 runs fine on Vista. The main caveat, you must have VS2005
SP1 applied.

See here for a list of known issues on Vista:

Lots more information about running VS2005 on Vista, here:

Hey, keep your shirt on. No-one here is getting paid for this! :)

Hope it helps,

Sounds like you have been conned. You can download the Visual Studio
2005 Express Edition for free from Microsoft.

You need to have SP1 (and the SP1 update for Vista) installed.
If you download it from Microsoft (since Vista was released), that is
included. But if you've bought it from somewhere and it's old you'll
need to update it.
In Vista, you can easily use Microsoft Update / Windows Update to do
that. Or you could just download the latest version.

You brought the VS 2005 Express Edition?

You could have gotten that for free. If you all the language solutions are
integrated through the one IDE, then you may have a version that is
different, than the ones that can be downloaded and ran individually.

One VS 2005 EE for WEB applications, one download for VB, one for C#, etc
etc, with each being a standalone solution and not all integrated into one
solution like VS 2005 Professional.

There is also the MS SQL Server 2005 Express Edition that is free to
download and use too, which you may need to use in your learning.

The link may help in your learning.

You might have an issue with developing Web solutions if not using Vista
Ultimate, Business or Enterprise, as IIS7 on Vista Home Premium is not a
full version of IIS7, because it doesn't have FrontPage Extensions, which is
needed, although I hear there is a patch for IIS7 for the non mentioned
Vista versions above.

I don't even know if IIS7 even comes on Home Basic.
