Windows update will not install!

Windows update shows an update for DirectX
9.0 - Managed DirectX. I tried to do the
install but it failed. I get a message that
the file was downloaded but could not be
installed. I checked my system and it shows
that I am running DirectX version 9.0b. Is
this a later version which is why I don't
need the upgrade? If it is, why does it
even show up in the first place? Or, is
this the Beta version and I need to get
the latest version? Hope someone can
answer this.

If you have disabled the "Cryptographic Services" in
Controlpanel -> Administrative tools (don't know if this
is right I'm using the swedish version.) -> Services you
can't install DX and some other windows updates.
