Windows Update icon continues to show 0% downloaded

The Windows Update icon has appeared in my system tray
this morning. I assume for SP2. Its been there for quite
a while this morning but continues to show 0% downloaded.
Is there something I need to do to get it to start
downloading. Thanks Alan

alan,

it is expected that you don't need to do anything. remember that the sp2
download is a huge download. it make take a few days especially if you are
using dial-up.

just make sure your autimatic updates is set to automatic (control panel >
system > automatic updates tab).

and don't worry if you need to turn your computer off midway through the
downloading process. windows will resume where it left off in case the
download gets cut off.

Just forget the auto-update and get sp2 directly from the windows update
website.
