hi group!

I wonder if there exists a list with the most used common performance
counters and the critical values - My problem is that I have lots of
performance counters but do not really know which values are good an which
are not!

Can anyone help?

best regards

Andy

Please provide some examples of these "performance counters".

The only such items that I am aware of are timed benchmark test
programs.

The most critical values are the ones you see under the Performance tab of
Task Manager: CPU usage, pagefile usage, total RAM available to the system,
total RAM available to programs, and (this is very important) total RAM used
by the system cache (the higher, the better -- free RAM is wasted RAM).
These factors probably account for 95-97% of performance. The state of your
hard drive accounts for the rest.
