I just solved this on my computer after plowing through a number of forums
and finding solutions that didn't work for me.

Running XP, Media center and readers for various camera cards.

The solution that worked for me was to disable all the camera card devices
on the computer.

Control Panel>Performance & Maintenance>system>Hardware tab>Device Manager>
disk drives

then one by one, double click on
generic usb CF reader usb device
generic usb SD reader usb device
generic usb MS reader usb device
generic usb SM reader usb device

and under "device usage" set it to "disable device"

Thank you David for taking the time to write this. I too experienced this,
but only after putting a Media card into my printer to print some photos off
of it. Then this weird error message starts appearing - even after every
re-start. I removed the media card, and still get it. I'll have to trywhat
you did. Thanks.

Usually, scanners like McAfee scan memory slots in printers or media reader
for media. If nothing is there then it throws that message. Disable the card
slot in Device Manager then it will disappear

<snipped the 3-year old post>

So, after 3 YEARS, you felt it necessary to quote an archaic post and
not add anything to it? Did you notice the datestamp of 7-Oct-2007? A
bit premature on the Enter key?
