windows messanger and msn messanger help

i have been bouncing around between MSN Messenger 6.0 to
Windows Messenger 4.6/4.7 with MSN add-ins trying to get
it to nitify me of new e-mails. i used to have this
feature when i had MSN Messenger 6.0, then something
happened to where it stopped working. so i figured i
would try windows messenger 4.6/4.7 and still have no
success. i have also lost the new mail notifier on the
logon screen.

HELP ME PLEASE, before i go nucking futts

Youve downloaded the,msn add in for windows xp 4.7?
Have you opened messenger,tools,options,and edited for
e-mail?Usually the complaint with messenger is how to
stop the sob from running e-mail notifications.You might
uncheck messenger in windows components,restart computer
re-check,install 4.7,the msn add in.. 6.0 is for msn
explorer.

im not sure what you mean by ucheck in windows
components, and i have msn 8.0 (explorer)

i just don't know what to do anymore. this is really
frustrating
