Windows Live OneCare Beta - broken?

[If this is out of place - for some reason I can't get to the beta
newsgroups I used to be in...]

With a recent update about three days ago, OneCare started to refuse to
open - it complained that the service wasn't running, but when I checked, it
was. The support options on the site don't help, and IE keeps seizing up
when I try to send a support e-mail to the team.

Failing having the problem solved, can I install the retail OneCare over the
beta?

How can Beta be broken, it never works right.

They're saying that they don't want beta information in there anyway; I
finally convinced Connect to take my .NET Passport, so I should be able to
get into the beta newsgroups soon. Sorry!

The beta can't have ended - that's what I've been working with for some time
now... unless they didn't send out an e-mail or anything and just killed off
the beta? That isn't sensible.

I just went and got my new password for the Connect newsgroups - when I
tried to access earlier, it asked for my password, which suggests they're
still there... I dunno.

The OneCare beta newsgroups were removed ~2 months ago in favor of those
forums!
