Windows Genuine Advantage is VERY annoying!

I disabled the Windows Management Instrumentation Provider Service on my
WinXP installation, primarily, because it was launching the Wmiprvse.exe
every day, which was eating the entire cpu, ram, and harddisk space, filling
up the %systemroot%\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\DataColl folder with useless files,
which reached the overall size of 500mb till I noticed the loss of space. If
I don't clean that folder, another 12-13 mbs are added every day.

Anyway, the win management service is not really needed. Yes, it's needed
for system restore, but I backup my %systemroot%\system32\config registry
folder manually and therefore have switched off system restore.

It's also needed to check services dependencies, but how often do we have to
check these dependencies? once a year, maybe, when we try to determine,
whether a certain service can be deactivated or not.

It's also needed to display system info through MSInfo - msinfo32.exe, but I
haven't used that programme for years.

So till now everything worked fine, until I tried to download a Windows
Genuine Advantage protected file from a MS server. The server installed the
activex component, checked for my product ID and returned:

Unfortunately we are unable to automatically validate your Windows
installation. We are unable to detect your Product ID. We hope that you’ll
return later to retry the validation process so that you may enjoy the full
benefits of genuine Microsoft software.

ok, so I turned the Win management service back on, tried again, this time
the server returns:

The Windows validation process has determined that you are running genuine
Microsoft Windows. Please click Download to get the download.

So you think that's it? No way! Everytime I want to download a protected
file I have to allow the server to check my product ID. At the moment
Windows Genuine Advantage programme is still being beta tested, but soon it
will become mandatory. And this means for me - everytime I want to download a
file from an MS server I have to re-enable the win management service.

This really starts to get on the MS customers' nerves! First you have to
activate your win copy. then, if you change some hardware components you have
to re-activate it. Then you have to validate it one mio times through Windows
Genuine Advantage, when you download files from MS servers. Enough is enough!
Most programmes check a serial number only once, when being installed or on
first start! While MS wants to re-check the serial number every two days.

Ok, you heard it - my win copy is genuine! So let me alone for god's sake!
set a cookie or something so that I can download all files from MS servers
without this annoying Genuine Advantage check! One validation should be
enough!!!
