windows for workgroups 3.11 compatibility with Windows 2003 Active directory

hi
we are doing an inplace upgrade from NT4.0 to W2k3 Active
Directory, during the test lab the upgrade process tells
windows95 and earlier os do not support login to W2K3 DC.
now this is a big problem, since there are couple of
wfw3.11 machines running critical application, a few
win95 machines also.

whats the solution, this 2 issues are stoping for moving
to Active Directory, which has become a must. I tried
windows xp compatibility program to run the application
but unsuccessful.

can anyone tell me what should i do in order to implement
active directory and also make these OS and application
work

thanks

Caveat: I haven't seen a WFW machine in years (Win95 either for that
matter.)

Two main issues exist (so if you try to bypass this problem start here):

NTLMv2 Authentication (possible for Win95 with upgrades I BELIEVE)
SMB Signing required by Win2003 (can be disabled)

Look into "Active Directory Client Upgrade" for Win95 (it's on the Server
CDROM
starting with Win2000) -- aka "DSClient"

Consider a SMALL Win2000 domain in your forest to support the legacy clients
if that doesn't work?
