Windows Defender error after Installation

Just installed the subject software, the update option is not working, states
no updates have been completed in 21 days!

When trying the update option, I get the following error - Windows Defender
was unable to complete the update: 0x8024002b

Windows Defender Version: 1.1.1051.0
Engine Version: 1.1.1185.0
Signature Version: 1.0.0.0

Are you on a managed corporate network which has a WSUS server? Is
WindowsUpdate or AutoUpdate restricted on your network?

What happens if you go to Windows Update? Are you offered signature updates
for Windows defender?
