Windows Defender - can we exclude using wildcards?

I was trying to have the program exclude jpg's and entered a *.jpg in the
exclude area, but it didn't take.

Is there any ability to use wildcards or will there be a file extension
selection in the future, with a menu selection in Windows Explorer in order
to select files on demand with a right click?
