Windows could not load the installer for SCSIAdapter

while installing a scsi adapter i am getting the error mentioned in the
subject line. please help me to know what may be the reason behind this
error.

Try going to run,type:services.msc In msc,scroll down to installer,double-
click on it,then in properties,change from manual to auto run,then start
the service,close out msc

Thank u for ur assistance.
But windows installer is already set to automatic and also it is
started. The actual error is
"Windows could not load the driver for SCSIAdapter. Contact your
hardware vendor for assistance."
When I try to see the properties of the SCSI & RAID Adapter from the
device manager, I am getting a similiar error, Also when I try to
install some hotfixes I am getting a similiar error.
Will you please guide me to overcome this problem. Is there any
possiblity of this being a hardware issue?
