Windows - Corrupt File File or directory C:Windows\inf is corrupt

This message comes up randomly and I assume it is tied to some old driver that was removed, replaced or changed. How do I determine exactly what is causing it and get rid of it???

Thanks,

Jim, you probably have an entry in the Inf folder that's left over from
a previous program that you had installed. Does the
message identify the file? If yes, you can look in the Inf folder
and delete it. In order to see the Inf folder you have to
go to Windows Explorer>Tools>Folder Options>View. Check show hidden
files and folders. And Uncheck Hide
protected operating system files.
