Windows cannot execute DPVSetup.exe error message

When testing the Audio Hardware the following error message shows up:
Windows cannot execute DPVSetup.exe error message.
In Help and Support, one finds the following solution:
Cause:-If the Audio Hardware Acceleration setting is set to None then the
above error may occur.

Resolution:-

1.Open Control Panel
2.Double-click Sounds and Audio Devices.
3.Click Voice tabthen Advanced under Voice Playback.
4.Click Performance and move the Hardware Acceleration slider to the right.
5. Click OK to close the dialog boxes.

Registry tweaking:-

Start>Run>Regedit>OK

Now navigate to the following location:-

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\DIRECTPLAY\VOICE\AUDIOCONFIG
Expand AUDIOCONFIG to get FullDuplex, HalfDuplex, and MicDetected
..Right-click the FullDuplex value and Modify DWORD Value to 3 in the Value
Data field and click OK. For the HalfDuplex and MicDetected DWORD values,
should be 3 and 2 respectively. Close the Registry Editor and reboot the
system.

After rebooting the system the test still does not work and the 3 values in
the registry are reset to the original 0.
What is to do to get the test running correctly?

Did you ever resolve this because I have the same problem. Tried all
the same same results.
If you had any luck please fill me in.
TIA
