Windows already activated

Several months ago I installed XP on my older laptop and went trough the
activation process and every time I logon it tells me I have 30, 29, 28,
ect.. number of days left to activate windows but when i ckick on the
activate windows icon it tells me i have already activated windows. I have
had to reinstall several times because my 30 days was up even though windows
is already activated??

You are prompted to activate Windows every time you restart your computer
