Hi,

I have windows 2000 professional installed on sepatate hard disk in
partition E: ( as second hard drive )
I added this disk to the another computer as second disk which has
already had Windows 98 on C: and logical partition D: for original
hard drive. The second disk is recognized and I can see partition E:
and all files , but can't boot Windows 2000. I add entry for Windows
2000 to the boot.ini , but stiil can't boot Windows 2000. Please,
help.

In this particular setup, with the Windows 2000 HD connected as the
slave drive, the boot partition remains that with Windows 98 on Drive C.
Windows 2000 cannot boot unless (a) the Windows 2000 boot sector
is installed in Drive C and boot.ini is edited to reflect the actual location
of Windows 2000 (Drive E) or (b) the Windows 2000 HD is a primary
partition (but does not appear to be so) and it can be started as such.
IOW, the method is not as simple as it would first appear.
