Hi I currently using Win XP and i believe it's for 32 bits. As I intend to
upgrade my motherboard & Processor to one that support 64 bits. May I know if
my current Win XP 32 bits software can be automatically be converted to 64
bits during installation to the new pc (motherboard & processor that support
64 bits)? Appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.

Software can't be converted. Most 32bit software will run on x64 XP except
for hardware drivers. You'll need 64bit drives for that, and there could be
problems getting those drivers so do some research before you make she
switch. There is a 64bit newsgroup where you should post questions about
issues relating to x64 XP.

you will need to purchase the 64 bit version.
be aware there are still driver and software problems using Xp Pro X-64 os.
might check with your device manufacturers before hand to see if they have xp 64 bit drivers available.
some have vista 64 bit but not xp 64 bit.

also make sure your 3rd party programs will be xp 64 bit compatible.
some are vista 64 bit but not xp 64 bit.

worse case you will lose the $ spent on the xp 64 bit by having to use the xp 32 bit discs on the new 64 bit system.

Hi, if my friend has Win XP Pro 64 bits CD, can I use my win XP Pro 32 bit
key while installing using his Win XP Pro 64 bits CD.

Will my win xp pro 32 bits key be recognised then?

Thanks.

Best Regards

No. Product Keys are bound to the specific type and language of
CD/license (OEM, Volume, retail, full, or Upgrade) with which they are
purchased. For example, a WinXP Home OEM Product Key won't work for any
retail version of WinXP Home, or for any version of WinXP Pro, and vice
versa. An upgrade's Product Key cannot be used with a full version CD, and
vice versa. An OEM Product Key will not work to install a retail product.
An Italian Product Key will not work with an English CD. Bottom line:
Product Keys and CD types cannot be mixed & matched.

No, product keys have to match the version.
