Window Defender causes computer to freeze

F

fupu

My computer freezes minutes after windows defender start scanning.
As a result i have to restart, and vista assumed it experienced errors so
the window defender starts automatically to scan again, then my computer
freezes again...
i tried close windows defender, then computer works fine. but i don't like
the idea of stopping the program forever...but if i do not stop it, the cycle
would go on forever so i can't use my computer at all.

Hello Fupu,

First clear up your Temp File/Cache, Restart the computer and try again.
Best and easier to use - CCleaner.

Delete the contents of the Microsoft Internet Explorer cache folder,
cookies, history, and the operating system temporary folder

Note, uncheck Yahoos Toolbar
Download the basic version via
<http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds.aspx>
The basic version does not contain the disgusted Toolbar

Have you tried manually scanning in safe mode?

Try a quick scan

I recommend downloading and installing MalwareBytes' Antimalware (MBAM) and
SUPERAntiSpywaÑe (SAS).

Do a full scan with MalwaÑeBytes' and SUPERAntiSpywaÑe.

Reboot
