Win2000 Continuous ICS Traffic

Hi - I needed to reinstall Win2000 on my client system. I
have it connected, via wireless TCP/IP, to a WinME
server. I have both systems set up to automatically
obtain the IP address. File sharing works fine. But after
setting up ICS for dial-up, the client constantly logs on
to the Net and continuously streams out data. I can
disconnect from the Net on the server, but the client
automatically reconnects. This happens even though there
is no app running that requires Net access. Prior to the
OS reinstall everything was fine, so the possibility of a
virus is slim (I think.) Thanks - Ken

Did you apply SP4 and ms03-039 on the W2K before you connected it to the
internet?

Nope, not yet. I figured I'd get everything configured
first before applying updates. That was next on my list
anyway. Thanks.

well, then while you are at it you should download the msblast and welchia
removal tools and run them... you are probably infected.

Thanks, I'll do that as well to be on the safe side.
I did forget to mention that I do not have the continuous
transmissions when I connect through the client's modem,
only through the server's.
