Will presentations work in Europe?

Silly question, but here goes...

Will a presentation created in the U.S. on a Windows XP machine in
PowerPoint 2002 work in Europe?

Thanks,
Bob

Right back at ya! Does the computer in Europe have PowerPoint 2002? Does
it have all of the fonts that are needed? If you've used music or video,
are the needed codecs, etc. installed. I could go on and on. Best practice
would be to carry a laptop with you that you know has everything that is
needed, including a power adapter. Also pre-test the presentation on the
laptop. Knowing me, I would also probably carry a CD containing the
presentation and software on it, and maybe even mail a second copy. But all
of this would apply if you were just traveling a few miles from home and
didn't have an opportunity to test it all out at the other location first.

not a silly question at all! (I have been asking the same for Excel formulas
just recently, and learned that ALL Office programs are expected to work, if
you use the same version). But PowerPoint definitely works, I'm working with
an international company and we are exchanging presentations often without
major problems.

If you need someone to test it on a German PPT 2002 version (maybe because
the presentation is for an important client): I volunteer as a "guinea pig".
Just exchange the INVALID in my e-mail address by DE and send it over (if
it's not too urgent - I'll have no internet access tomorrow, Thursday).

Kind regards,
Ute

Yes, but I believe you will have to get it a work visa. <g>

This sounds like a great German internet service provider.

They tell you in advance of when things don't work?!?!?

Over in the UK you get to find out things are not working from the ISP after
they have fixed the fault.

No, TAJ,

internet service providers are the same everywhere :-(

The reason is much simpler: I'm out of town for a short holiday of two days
and will not take my notebook with me. ;-)

Kind regards,
Ute

If you are taking your laptop, check your power supply can handle 22-240
volts (modern ones should...). Also make sure you've got a plug adapter so
you can actually plug it into the wall!
