Will 32-bit XP Pro run on a 64-bit system?

I just got a new pc with an AMD FX-53 64-bit processor. Will the 32-bit
version of XP Pro run on it or will I need to install the x64 beta veraion?

I think that CPU will run 32-bit apps (OS's) as well.

The AMD Athlon64 supports the 32-bit versions of WinXp without a
problem.

It will run, but you will not be getting the full benefit of your 64
bit CPU.

For that you will need the 64 bit Windows XP, and also 64 bit versions
of at least your major application programs.
