Why won't my background color stay the color I change it to.

The background color that was set up as a default on my computer is dark
blue. I change it to very light blue. However, in about 10-20 minutes, the
background color gradually changes back to dark blue.
Why does that happen and how can I keep "my" color?

Hi Paula,

Are you using any third party desktop background enhancer/changer?

Hi, Kelly.
Thanks for your suggestion. No, there is no third-party background enhancer
on the computer as far as I know--it's a brand new computer and we're using
is as it came to us from the store.
Best regards,
Paula

Hi Paula,

Thanks for the feedback. Did you per chance wander into the Accessibility
Options/Display/Settings?

Thanks, Kelly. To my knowledge, no one in the family has wandered over to
accessibility. However, just to be sure, I'll double-check the settings when
I get home. I assume that I'm looking to see if the "Use High Contrast" box
is checked.

Hi, Kelly,
Ah, you are sooo good. Yes, my father must have gone in there because the
high contrast box was selected. Also, just FYI, the background color was
changed by adding a custom theme.

So, in order to permanently keep the background color we want (so that it
doesn't fade into a light blue color in 10 minutes or so) we need to uncheck
that high contrast box?
Best regards,
Paula

Final Result:
I unchecked the High Contrast box in the accessibility setting. It still did
not keep the dark blue color.
HOWEVER:
I changed the custom theme to the XP classic theme. Applied the change. Then
went back in and changed back to the customer theme. I also choose a custom
color, rather than one of the generic color squares.
I clicked apply, and then OK.

The background color has stayed the dark blue color that I've chosen ever
since.
