Why is MSAS ignoring MUOIPG.EXE autoupdater?

Dave

We see this pest on many PCs as a running process that
resists manual removal. Process cannot be easily killed,
it automatically restarts itself, and attempts at least
daily to download THNALL2R.EXE
from "static.callinghome.biz". I have a copy of the
executable if that would help. This thing has been
around for several months, yet the Microsoft tool does
not touch it or even alert on it.

MSAS also seems to ignore the autoupdater
for "AproposClientInstaller.exe"
(PeopleOnPage.AproposMedia). Not sure of process name
yet, but it daily tries to connect
to "download.contextplus.net". We can block these sites
with SurfControl at the perimeter, but the fact is your
tool does not really remove the whole pest.

If possible, please submit Tools, Suspected spyware reports from machines
with these threats in place.

I'm CC:ing Steve Wechsler on this note. He has in the past been able to get
binaries to the Microsoft team.

Dave,

If you could, would you please zip up the executable, password protect
it, and send it to me along with the password, please ? You may have to
change the file's extension from .exe to .xxx to get it passed ISP virus
filters. Will forward it along to MS .
Thanks,
