Why does Outlook repeatedly change my incoming mail server's name.

I think I want to replace this program with the Mozilla version (so to have,
perhaps, one session without a bug-attack).

I configure an e-mail account. It fuctions to download my mail. However,
if I restart Outlook, it changes the name of the incoming mail server to
"localhost", and it adds the server name (pop.chartermi.net) at the end of my
user name, following a slash / mark.

WTH?

Disable the Email scanning function in your AV program.
