Why can't my movies play on DVD player?

Jamie

I downloaded Movie Maker 2 from the web site and then made
a movie with audio using my digital pictures. When I go
to play it in my DVD play it says it can not play this cd
why. My DVD player plays other CD-Rs like this on it that
my brother made on his Mac. Please help me and let me
know if another product works better for what I am trying
to do. This is a great way to share y daughters life with
Grandparent who live far away.
Thank anyone who helps in advance.

Again, you need a third party app in order to burn either DVD or VCD
compliant video.
You cannot do this with MM2. MM2 supports HighMAT technology.

MovieMaker won't create MPEG formatted files, and that's what DVD players
need.

You can save your MovieMaker project in DV-AVI format, then use a tool like
TMPGenc (www.TMPGenc.net) to convert it to MPEG format, which you can then
burn to CD with your CD burner software.

(Your CD Burner software may even have an option for converting AVI files
to MPEG, but TMPGenc generally does a better job of the task. And if you
already have your project stores as a .WMV file, TMPGenc can convert that
to MPEG, though the quality will suffer a bit).
