Why aren't my Contacts updated when the GAL is changed?

Running Office 2003, fully patched, on a WinXP Pro system, fully patched and
all SPs. Exchange 2003 on a Win2003 Server, fully patched with all SP's.
Cached Exchange mode.

I go into Exchange's User admin tool and delete a user and add a Contact.
However, now when I access the Global Address List from Outlook (e.g.,
hitting "To:" in a New Mail message), I still see the old GAL list with the
deleted user, and I don't see the new Contact.

I've tried rebooting the client machine (please don't suggest rebooting the
Exchange server!) but still no update. What do I have to do to have the GAL
update in Outlook 2003?

Thank you

The GAL is probably up to date but as you're using Outlook 2003 in cached
mode then it sounds like your offline address book is not yet updated.
Exchange will update the offline address book every 24 hours usually at 4am
in the morning. So you can either wait for this or force an update, if this
has happened but your offline address book still isn't updated you can
redownload the offline address book in Outlook and then restart Outlook and
the download should start within 5 minutes.

Thanks, that was indeed the issue!
