Can you tell me what view you have applied to your sent items box. If
by chance you have set it to view only unread messages it would not
show any of your sent items because they do not go into that folder as
unread. You want to show the view of "Messages."

If you need any further help, then please let me know.

Hello,

I just had a user reporting this same phenomenon.

She has Outlook 2003 SP1, running on Windows XP SP2.

Basically, what's happening is whenever she replies to an email that she had
already moved from the InBox, into a sub-folder (within her Mailbox), the
copy of the sent reply does not go into her Sent Items folder... it pops up
in the same folder that she had moved the original email to.

If she creates a brand new email and sends it out, or she replies to an
email that is still in the InBox, then a copy of that sent item will show up
in her Sent Items folder.

That's soooo weird!!!

I tried deleting her profile (along with the Extend.dat file), and
re-created a new Profile, but that didn't resolve the issue.

I tried running a Detect & Repair on her Outlook Client, but that didn't help.

I tried disabling and re-enabling the Outlook Option to send a copy of sent
emails to the Sent Items folder, but that didn't resolve it either.

Got any ideas I could try?

Thanks, Ace

Click Tools>Options>E-mail Options>Advanced E-mail Options and uncheck the
box labeled "In folders other than the Inbox, save replies with original
mesage"
