which pocket PC device to buy

I need to buy a pocket pc device to test my first C#
application built with
Visual Studio 2003.NET and .NET Compact Framework, but I'm
not sure what to buy.
I see on the web some device has OS - "Windows Mobile 2003
for Pocket PC" (such as Toshiba e355 Pocket PC ),
some has OS - " Microsoft® Windows® 2003 for Pocket PC"
(like hp iPAQ pocket PC h1935).
What's the difference between these two operating system ?
Can my application run on both devices ?

thanks !

Both of these appear to be alternate names for the same OS. The official
name is Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC devices. This is the
successor to Pocket PC 2002, and in many cases is referred to as Pocket PC
2003.
There are two difference editions of the OS available - Professional
included with lower end devices and requires less ROM, some features are
installed in device RAM. Premium is offered with the higher end devices and
includes the full suite of apps (Jawbreaker, Pictures viewer, Reader)

Hi Amy,

That is a typo. Can you post the link to the "Microsoft(r) Windows(r) 2003
for Pocket PC" device? I'll see what I can do about getting it fixed. It
should read, "Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC" too.

Your .NET Compact Framework-based applications will run on all Pocket PC
2000, Pocket PC 2002, and Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC devices.
