Where does Outlook 2003 store its email database?

What is the filename and location of this database?

G'Day Rsiddall,

In Outlook 2003:
File>Data File Management...
Manipulate the Columns to see the File Name & Path OR
Click "Settings" for a better view.

NB: ALL of the Personal Folders "Deleted Items", "Drafts"......
"Outbox", "Sent Items", together with their contents, are stored
in this File.

Views (and any customisations) are stored in the Folder (in this
File) to which they apply.

I just got a new pc and installed outlook 2003.

I have a full backup of all my previous machine'ss data. Do I just need to
replace ..\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook and ..\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook data in order to restore all my
Outlook settings (rules, locations to storage (pst) folders)?

In what file are my inbox rules located in? Are they located in any of
these application data files or in my default PST delivery file?

Is is true that everything is contained in actual files EXCEPT the email
account / password information as that was stored in the registry?

Thanks - Rhonda

You can't restore your account settings, but your Inbox, Outbox, rules (if
your delivery location was the PST), Calendar, Contacts, and all your other
fodlers are in the PST.

Yes.

Thanks. But I still need to copy over the data in ..\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook and ..\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook to get my other Outlook settings like navigation pane
settings, custom bar and menu customizations, correct? Or is all that stuff
contained in my default delivery PST file?

I just want to make sure I'm backing up all that I need in case I have to
rebuild my Outlook settings.
