I need to insert names, addresses and greetings from my Office97 Professional
Edition Contact Management Database into a standard sales letter with company
letterhead, text and closing. I thought Developer Solutions was included in
the Office 97 Professional Edition CD. but I can't find it. I'm running
Office 97 on Windows 98. Thank you.

The process you're describing does not require the developer's edition. That is
only necessary to package and redistribute the Access runtime onto PCs that
don't have Access already installed. You just need to use mail-merge or use VBA
to automate Word which plain ol' Access can do just fine.

Are you talking about the Solutions.mdb file that came with Access/Office 97 or the Developer's
Tools for Access 97?

Office/Access 97 came with Northwind, Orders, and Solutions databases in addition to the database
wizards. With my installation the Solutions.mdb is found under:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Samples

Do a search on your hard drive for Solutions.mdb. If you cannot find it, pop in your Office 97 CD,
go to Start-Control Panel-Settings-Add/Remove Programs. Look for Office 97 Professional. From memory
I believe you select to add components from the next dialog box. Find the options under Access and
make sure all the extra "goodies" are selected. One of those is the extra samples, but I cannot
remember which one at the moment.
