When I Install XP Home I Get A SETUPDD.SYS Error

I've put a new hard drive into an Acer machine. When I run the setup for
Windows XP Home off the cd, the installation says it "setup can't access his
disk". When i press a key I then get a blue screen saying "STOP 0x0000008E"
and "SETUPDD.SYS".

Have tried with XP PRO and HOME and still the same thing.

Any Ideas

Hi

For what its worth the only 3 times i have seen the setupdd.sys errors during installation the cause has been a bad ram module

try installing with a KNOWN GOOD stick of ram

Setupdd.sys

If your machine show SETUPDD.SYS error 4 you follow this:
1) shut down you OS and HW system (power supply & battery for portable)
2) disconect the HW not supported by Microsoft Co. see http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hcl/default.mspx
3) connect only original HW or compatible HW see (RAM included)http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hcl/default.mspx
4) connect power supply or buttery and power up your pc
5) Try to install XP
6) Now If you know your HW is'nt broken you can reinstalled to start the procedur by point 2)

I hope to help you.

1) installate tutti i componenti originali o compatibili secondo Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hcl/default.mspx

2) installate XP
Codice errore 4"
5)Mandate a quel paese Microsoft dichiarando che l'avete fregata!!
