What is Word 2000 counterpart of WordPerfect `reveal codes'?

Am trying to combine text sections in different fonts. In old pre-Windows
WordPerfect you hit `reveal codes' and simply delete or alter the font change
commands. What do you do in Word to show commands such as fonts, `Bold',
`underline' etc. and edit them?

Word has no equivalent of Reveal Codes. Instead, select the text, then got
to Format > Font and apply the font changes you want. There are shortcut
buttons to bold, underline, etc on the Format toolbar; and there are
keyboard shortcuts also (ctrl-b for bold, ctrl-i for italic, etc).

Better still, for many purposes, is to define styles with the formatting
already set up, then apply the styles to selected paragraphs.

You can easily see all the formatting applied to a specific set of text by
clicking the "Help" menu and selecting "What's this" (SHIFT+F1). Click your
mouse on the desired text and a pop-up box will show up with all the
formatting codes. Of course, you need to use the directions provided by
Jezebel to change them. When done, press the ESC key to get out of the
"What's this" mode.

I think the feature you are looking for is found under Tools>Options>View.
In the middle "Formatting marks" section, select "All." Good luck.
