Weird. Outlook "sends" a message, but it never gets sent.

Can anyone help with this.

I have a roadrunner pop email account. Up until three months ago, I had no
problems sending and receiving through Outlook. A while ago, I started being
unable to send while staying with family. My brother uses DSL and I suspected
that the RR smtp server was being blocked. So I changed the smtp server in
the settings to his DSL smtp server. Outlook started sending the messages. It
placed them in the sent items folder. But I found out that the messages never
went anywhere. They just disappear. What did I do wrong? Am I unable to send
through another SMTP and if so, what can I do? And why does Outlook think
they went?

I assume that you changed the server but you continued to use your prior
email address which was not recognized by the ISP. I would have thought
that the ISP would have given you an error message and not put the email in
the sent folder.

ISP don't put them in the sent folder, outlook does. many isp's accept and
discard messages because it's too much server load if its a spammer is
trying to use the smtp.
