Webcam installation problem: not recognizing the software

im trying to install a Micro Innovations Webcam with my notebook
computer (WinXP Home). When I plug it into USB, it recognizes it as a
"USB Device" but not as the webcam, so it doesn't actually know which
drivers to install. When I plug it into my desktop, it recognizes it
as a Webcam and installs with no problem.

Even when I install the drivers before plugging in, it sill only
recognizes it as a "USB Device" and not as a Webcam.

Any ideas?

It's still not working. It still only registers as a "USB Device," and
windows doesn't recognize it as a Webcam. LIke I said, installing it
exactly the same way on my desktop computer works perfectly fine.

Any more ideas anyone?
