Just thinking logically: of course it it will. If not right away, ASAP
once Ed hears about problems. He would likely start testing as soon as
Vista is available, maybe even now, with a beta. Why not ask *him*?
VueScan is written in the C++ programming language, and it uses the
wxWidgets libraries to give the same code a 'native' (to the operating
system) look.
That will allow it to be a Vista compatible program if it is not
already.
Vista compatibility with XP drivers has not clearly been publicly addressed:
some XP drivers will work, most won't.
Vuescan is a sort of universal Twain driver: it will most surely have to be
recompiled or rewritten to run with Vista.
If hardware makers do not write drivers for Vista for existing hardware it
is difficult to comprehend how Vista will be a worthwhile upgrade in this
now mature computer marketplace. There is absolutely no rational reason for
someone to replace a $500 dollar printer in order to be compatible with a
$200 vastly overpriced and bug-prone OS.
Apple gets away with forcing its small user base into arbitrary upgrade
cycles but look at what fundamentalist sects of all stripes get away with .
