Vista64 to OSX

I'm having a problem communicating between a Vista64 machine and an OSX
machine.

Three machines on the same 1G switch. OSX.4.10, XP32sp2, and Vista64.

All three machines see each other in the respective network brousers.

The OSX machine can access the public folders on each of the other machines.

The XP machine can access the public folders on each machine

The Vista machine can access only the XP machine. The same user name and
password that works from the XP machine is rejected from the Vista machine.

any suggestions as to where to look for what is set incorrectly?

Thanks,

Assuming you can ping Vista, I would check the permissions first. this link
may help too.

Vista Permission Issues Vista Permission Issues. Access Is Denied when Vista
Accesses Network Share If you receive access denied, it could be the
permission issue ...

I didn't communicate clearly;
The Vista machine can see, but not log on to the OSX machine (the user
name and password result in an "unsuccessful logon".
The OSX machine can both see and log on to the Vista machine.
The XP machine can see and log on to either machine.

Thanks,

Thanks for the responses. My problem resulted from a network security
setting in Vista.

After prowling around in the posts suggested by Robert L.
I found this posting about dealing with a SNAP server. The same changes
solved my problem.

Take a look at this:

http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-10877_11-6174105.html

Note the section about 2/3 of the way down:
1. Click Start.
2. Type secpol.msc in the search box and press Enter.
3. Windows Vista will display a warning message; click Continue.
4. Windows Vista's Local Security Policy console will appear.
Highlight Local Policies.
5. Double-click Security Options.
6. Scroll down to the Network Security: LAN Manager Authentication
Level policy entry and double-click it.
7. Change the value from the default setting of Send MTLMv2
Response Only to Send LM & NTLM -- Use NTLMv2 Session Security If
Negotiated, then click OK. (Figure J).
8. Close the Local Security Policy console.
