LOL...

Ive had this...

You need to take ownership / full access of the file. Right mouse click it,
security then many options here, click edit and give all users full control.

Hope this helps.

The easy way is go to Control Panel, User Accounts and turn off User
Account Control. If you like after the reboot and you delete the files
and folders, you can reverse the process which requires another
reboot.

If you see run into problem, fine the file in Windows Explorer, right
click, properties, attributes and uncheck read only if it is colored.
This can prevent some actions on some files.

huh?

If UAC is blocking you, all you have to do is click on the "Authorize"
button and you have permission.

I'm having the same stupid problem. I don't even have UAC on, but I'm being
told I don't have permission to delete a file THAT I CREATED!!! Then I go
look at the permissions and it tells me that TrustedInstaller has the
perfmission? WTF? Then I try to change it back to me and get so many error
messages that I have to cancel.

What has happened here? How do I fix it? Sorry if I sound frustrated, but
Vista is a PITA!

Andre,

Thanks for the reply, but I think I found the problem. When I restarted the
machine I noticed a program called "Media Watcher" in my taskbar. I think
it's a Roxio program that looks for new media files. I turned it off and told
it not to start again, and the problem went away. I'm not sure why this
program would be messing with permissions, but it looks like it is.

Thanks

Mark
