Vista Ultimate Office 2007 installs office products every time cli

From outlook when I double click an attachment excel, word, powerpoint, I get
the please wait while windows configures your installation, followed by
gathering information, progress bar and after 2 minutes finally it opens the
document. Does this EVERY time and it is driving me nuts. This was not a
problem 2 weeks ago and all of sudden started. I have un/installed office
2007 to no avail. Please help.

I know from personal experience how annoying this is. Hit Cancel each time
it starts, which will shorten the wait time for the actual document to open.

So--uninstalling and reinstalling made no difference?

Have you tried the repair option within Office?

The Windows Installer Cleanup tool, which I would normally suggest for this
issue, specifically states that it must not be used for Office 2007 issues.
Instead, there is this KB article:

which looks pretty daunting to me--I'd try other things first.

Can you get an email support incident for Office--if you have a retail, as
opposed to OEM copy, you might be able to do that--that would be a good
thing to pursue.

I guess another option would be to use System Restore to return to a restore
point more than 2 weeks ago--and then visit Windows Update to take care of
any security patches lost in the process.

was there any recent updates that was installed on the system.
Or was diskclean-up done and was the instalation cache removed from the syste.
because this usually occurs when the installation cache files are missing.

I suggest you go ahead and uninstall office 2007 and install any other
office version and run Windows Installer Clean-up tool. and later reboot the
system and then install office 2007 this should resolve the issue
all the best

If this problem is occur every time then you have to change your office version. Office 2007 is not much compatible with vista compare to any other version. so you can change your office version.

I think that you will have to go with Office 2010 Latest version.

If this will happen every time then you have to uninstall all the component of Office version and install again with proper installation steps. I hope you will get solution for this problem.
