got a gateway computer with a amd athlon athlon 64 x2 3800+ , with western
digital 250gb, and 2gigs of ram with and nvidia 6600 256mb w/turbocache, i
have installed a hauppauge tv tuner card runs excellent , only thing is that
media center cant detect it , but wintv can, no biggie there, intel webcam
works fine , netgear wireless router runs fine, sound is great , Aero runs
smooth as a whistle, no crashes yet , no hangs, no restarts, installed
firefox runs fine, installed adobe photoshop2 runs great, installed WinFS
and it also runs fine, Installed Acrylic and it also runs fine, I installed
Utorrent runs fine, Dreamweaver runs ok its a little laggy but it runs
ok....what else....only thing that really might be a concern is the stupid
permissions on installing certain software, editing permissions on files is
annoying , installing TweakVista helps workaround that issue, but all in all
on my end it seems all good, i can see under the task manager the cpu usage
on one core is at 100% or 51% and the other is maybe flucuating and running
evenly , to my theory dual core is the way to go with vista, one core runs
the os and it's handles and resources and the other runs the application
workload. Congrates to AMD on the great chip.....loving every minute of it.
Way to go to Microsoft as well, will definately be getting a fully equipped
system when it goes rtm, Ultimate version of course....

Intel Dual core here with 2GB RAM (specific for the beta)
I am enjoying beta testing Vista too and hope to purchase the full version
for my actual computer which has a faster processor.
Graphics card drivers plus sound need driver support not to mention my
Microsoft mouse. Apart from this I am learning a LOT if RC1 installs and
works after this then it will be cool.
