If you look in Device Manager is there a device with a yellow exclamation
mark by it? (Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware Tab>Device Manager). If so
try either rt. clicking the unknown device and selecting Update driver and
select 'Install the software automaticallly.' This often happens when you
connect your scanner before installing the software provided by Visioneer.
If you don't see a yellow banged device then like Cari mentioned there might
be a problem with your actual USB port.
