Very Slow Word - Office 2000

I have installed XP on to my computer and my word sems to be running very slowly. I have been trying to creat a document with styles. I have created the document and am putting the styles in next. My problem is that sometiimes, when I put a bullet or number, it put's it into the whole document, and then I have to edit undo....it then puts the bullet in the correct place but when I save the document, it size has multiply 10 fold, what am I doing........... Going MA
