Using Windows messenger 5.0 to connect to SIP outside firewall

Hi, all!

I have the following configuration
1. Live Communtication Server 2003
2. Windows XP with Windows Messenger 5 (outside a domain)
3. Firewall which allow TCP traffic coming from Windows XP WS to server,
deny TCP traffic from server to Windows XP WS and deny any UDP

I want to know is it possible to have messemger working in this
configuration. I've tried TCP and TLS, the connection established, but login
with correct domain credentials is rejected.

Could anyone help me to solve this problem?

Hi

I've been having the same problem on our network,

I ended up using TLS and set the connection manually to
point to the FQDN of the LCServer.

Then you need to set up certificates on the LCS and
connect the certificate with the routing in LCS (in the
manager console)

Thanks but .... this thing does not work :-(

I've tried TLS, always specifying FQDN, the certificate is accepted but
domain login is rejected.

When the same thing is done on the domain member comp inside the firewall -
everything works fine...
